There's an old hymn written by Annie S. Hawks, 1835-1918 called "I Need Thee Every Hour."
As I think about Abiding in Christ, I find myself changing the words to the following:
You keep me every hour, most gracious Lord,
Your tender voice of power can peace afford.
You keep me, O You keep me,
every hour You keep me,
You bless me always, Saviour, I abide in thee.
You keep me every hour, You stay nearby,
Temptations lose their power when you are nigh.
You keep me every hour, in joy or pain,
In trials planned in Love, I fret in vain.
You keep me ever hour; teach me Your will;
And thy rich promises in me fulfill.
You keep me every hour, most Holy One,
You've made me thine indeed, you Blessed Son.
